After a long winter, it's time for spring-cleaning. The last patch of snow has melted. Flowers are blooming. Mother birds are feeding babies in their nests. At last -- spring is here!

Spring has always been known as a time of birth and renewal. It's a bright, happy time of fresh beginnings. After a long winter, many of us want to speed up the process. Signs of spring outdoors inspire us to bring spring indoors. How do we do that? In a nutshell... clean up, lighten up, brighten up! Here are suggestions for 2 ways to bring spring into your home.

1. Spring Cleaning

Yes. You knew this one was coming! Spring cleaning has been around for ages, and still has its value today. For us, cleaning out the clutter and wiping off the dust helps get rid of the old and refresh to feel new again. I remember Mom's spring-cleaning ritual when I was a kid. She would spend hours washing the china, glassware, and every knick-knack, then move on to cleaning out all the closets. Afterwards, she would wash down walls and scrub the floors. For some reason, having everything clean really did seem to bring a breath of fresh air into the house. So, throw open those windows and let the spring air in.
